About:
RetriX is an emulator front end for UWP, on all the hardware platforms it supports: it serves the same purpose as RetroArch but is built from the ground up to integrate as well as possible with Windows. It can run on desktop, tablet, phone and Xbox One (in dev mode). Holographic, Mixed Reality and Continuum on phone should work too but haven’t beed tested.
LibretroRT is a framework to enable porting of Libretro cores to WinRT components.
This should enable creating native UWP emulator front ends using high the high quality open source Libretro cores available.

System Requirements
RetriX requires at minimum a PC or Phone with Windows 10 Creators Update (1507 – Build 15063) or later, or an Xbox One with March 2017 Dashboard.
Hardware requirements vary based on what system is being emulated – faster CPUs will be able to run more recent games and the more RAM the better. It is recommended to have at least 2GB RAM.
Installation
RetriX is a UWP app that is distributed outside of the Windows 10 app store, since Microsoft has decided to ban all emulators.
To use RetriX, you will need to sideload it to your device:
- PC, Tablet (Windows 10 desktop)
- On Windows 11, go to “Settings > For developers” and enable “Developer Mode”.
- If you are still getting certificate error when running the package (.appxbundle), please follow these steps to fix it.
- Phone (Windows 10 mobile)
- Xbox One
Smartscreen
As of right now, RetriX install packages are marked as untrusted by Smartscreen: this is because RetriX is a new app that has had few downloads and not because of any malicious behaviour.
Follow these steps to install an app blocked by Smartscreen. Given enough time and installs, Smartscreen will start trusting RetriX and the above won’t be needed anymore.
